KICKSTARTER $$$ GOALS:

For a year, we have been iterating on the game's rules and setup using different prototypes made from wood, PVC, 3D-printed elements, hinges, bug nets, and more. Some of you have played it or heard us overzealously talking about the game. With the help of a product designer friend, and after lots of tweaks, we finally landed on a great injection-molded design and have been sourcing all the different parts.
  • Realistically, we will need about $75+K to get this shindig going, with molds costing up to $10K each. Instead of raising angel money, we want people to pre-order the game then play the game and spread all the words!
  • Our Kickstarter goal in our mind is $75+K, but we are working with a great Kickstarter marketing company that has advised us on a few things to make it pop.
  • We are setting our Kickstarter goal for a modest $8,000 and WE NEED to reach that goal on the first or second day of the campaign to get featured on the Kickstarter.com main page, catch the attention of all the yard games addicts out there, and truly get the snowball rolling.
  • We are still tweaking the final "Reward Tiers" and costs, but likely will start at $89.99 for a Full Set (Two Donuts platforms & legs, etc) for Early Bird (first 100 sets) then will go up in price a bit for secondary tiers and if you add on extra elements - like our Floating Donutball adapters, Light Up Kits, and Pro Inserts. 
  • This price is less than half the cost of an average cornhole set and less than many other games out there ...and you can play DONUTBALL inside. 
  • With this pricing, we are literally trying to get close to breaking even on this launch, between all the costs of the components, molds, plus 7% Kickstarter fees, Social Media ADs, and our marketing partner's fees, etc.
TIMING:
  • We are launching the Kickstarter Campaign in early April because we want to get it all moving so we can start shipping Donutball Kits in late May / early-mid June, depending how things go.
  • This is wonderful Summer game and we want you all to bring it to / on your family trips, beach days, reunions, Civil War Reenactments, BBQs, vaction rentals, and even to all your indoors (ie "lamo, it's raining") get togethers.
